Social media

I’d like to talk about how much I love/hate social media. I’ve talked about this in some of my books. For example I go into it in I Don’t Fucking Know. But I will elaborate a bit more here for those who haven’t read that book. I said that Social Media is great for promoting business things. I do it everyday for all my businesses. But I’d like to talk about the dark side of social media. It can actually be harmful to our mental health. I actually deleted my instagram account and haven’t looked back.

Why did I do it? Well two reasons, it was hurting my mental health. And frankly it got to be a pain in the butt. I wasn’t getting enough work done because it was taking up my time. I’m feeling much better now. I think sometimes we have to take shit out of our lives in order to function better.

Another thing about social media that I don’t like but at the same time I like. The edit button. See I’m an introverted person and I need time to think about what I say. I like to communicate this way better. Because of that. However the other side of that is that as I’ve stated earlier I have trust issues and sometimes I don’t know if the other person I’m contacting is lying or not. We never know if the other person is lying or not. unless we know them really well of course. But we need to be careful. Have you seen catfish? Have you seen Law & Order? Have you seen CSI? And my personal favorite Dexter. I love that show. (That’s another blog post)

We shouldn’t live in such a filtered world. And social media is filtered AF. We show people what we want them to see. We tell people what we think they want to hear. It’s ridiculous. Imagine the connections we could have if we were actually real. 100% real. No BS.

Think about it…..
